Data Deletion
How to request removal of your data
Our Data Philosophy
ChatSalon is designed to be ephemeral. We do not require account creation, and most user data is automatically deleted when your session ends. Video and audio streams are peer-to-peer and never touch our servers. Chat messages are held in memory only during active sessions and are not persisted to any database.
What Data May Exist
- •Moderation reports — if you reported another user or were reported, records may be retained for safety purposes.
- •Push notification tokens — if you opted into push notifications on mobile, your device token may be stored.
- •Session metadata — anonymized session records (timestamps, country) may be retained for analytics.
How to Request Deletion
To request deletion of any data associated with you, send an email to privacy@chatsalon.com with the following information:
- 1.Subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
- 2.A description of what data you would like deleted (e.g., push notification token, moderation reports).
- 3.Any identifying information that can help us locate your records (e.g., approximate date/time of use, country).
Processing Time
We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days. If we need additional information to verify or process your request, we will contact you at the email address you used.
Automatic Data Deletion
If you simply stop using ChatSalon, the following happens automatically:
- •Session IDs are discarded immediately on disconnect.
- •Chat messages are purged from memory when the session ends.
- •Push notification tokens become inactive if you uninstall the app or revoke notification permissions.
