Data Deletion Requests
Most chat data is automatically deleted when your session ends. If you have a mobile account and would like to delete it, or if you want to request deletion of any residual data (such as account info, moderation reports, or push notification tokens), please email privacy@chatsalon.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and we will process your request within 30 days.

How does ChatSalon work?
ChatSalon matches you with other users who share your interests for video, audio, or text chat. On the mobile app, sign in with Apple, set up your profile and interests, and start connecting. On the web, you can start chatting right away.
Is ChatSalon free?
Yes. ChatSalon is completely free to use with no hidden fees or premium tiers.
Do I need to create an account?
On the mobile app, yes — sign in with Apple is required for a safe, accountable experience. On the web, you can chat without an account.
How do I report or block someone?
During a chat session, tap the flag icon to report or the block icon to block a user. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team within 24 hours. Blocked users will not be matched with you again.
Are my conversations recorded?
No. Video and audio streams are transmitted directly between users via peer-to-peer WebRTC and are never recorded or stored by our servers. Text messages are held in memory only during the active session and deleted when you disconnect.
How do I delete my data?
If you have a mobile account, you can request account deletion by emailing privacy@chatsalon.com. Chat messages are ephemeral and deleted when your session ends. For a formal data deletion request, visit our Data Deletion page.
What age do I need to be?
You must be at least 18 years old to use ChatSalon. If you believe a minor is using the service, please report them immediately.
How do I revoke camera/microphone permissions?
You can revoke permissions at any time through your device settings (iOS: Settings > ChatSalon) or your browser's site settings.
